So they do park on their part of the driveway, but the cars jut out into the area that narrows, which we have to turn into to get out of the driveway.

I would put tall flexible orange rods right on your side of boundary. That will help with parking and maybe encourage them to move further to their side.

My friend shares a driveway and there's a couple of inches of side clearance when she backs out, if her neighbor's car is there as well.

Get a camera centered on the driveway.
Then, park both your cars there one day, and see how it goes.

Passive aggressive may be the only solution, since being direct didn't seem to work.

Agree with PP -- just park both your cars in the driveway and take an uber to work for a few days, until your neighbors realize they're being total dicks.

The only way to deal with this is to wait until they move their cars, then park your cars on the driveway.

It sucks when you have crappy neighbors but such is life. Also, get a camera in case they damage your car backing out.

These neighbors won’t change until they’re inconvenienced by this. Right now they think it’s NBD and you’re whiny. It’s summer, whenever there’s an opening put both your cars on the driveway.

I’m a physician and considered essential. We don’t live in DC or anywhere near protests. Neither of their cars fits into their garage now.

Ehhh I wouldn't leave a car parked on the street right now either. And you both have garages it sounds like - so why not permanently park a car in each garage spot (their smaller one) and then used the shared driveway for a single car each?

Sooo, we live in the city and have some neighbors that we share a driveway with that have in the last few weeks chosen to park both their cars on their portion of the driveway- in the past it’s been that each neighbor just parks one car on their side of the driveway in front of our respective garages (which they have recently purchased a new car which is so large that won’t fit into theirs - they used to be able to park one inside the garage). With them parking both cars on their side of the driveway we can’t back out of ours without coming within inches of hitting theirs. It’s really frustrating. If we were to park both our cars in the driveway and then they were to do the same- no one would be able to back out. It would be complete grid lock. My husband mentioned that the cars wouldn’t all fit and they completely ignored him. It’s strange because there is plenty of street parking, it’s relatively safe (although once they left their car unlocked and it was broken into.

I would like to avoid being passive aggressive- but just wondering if anyone handled something similarly- am I just out of luck here? What can I do?
