Yes, he cried out "Mama" several times. I just watched the video again and the fear in his voice was shocking.

Same OP. My husband is a strong silent type, but he nervously showed me a poem last night that he'd written about what he's been feeling. We wept in each other's arms. I almost wish I'd never watched the video. Watching someone be slowly tortured to death has really shaken me.

We are all breaking down from this SAH and the fear.

I feel the same, OP, for the first time in my life. My kids are grown and on their own and yet what’s happening rips my heart out and keeps me up at night.

This is our country today. Only we can change it.

OP I am sorry. I feel the same way all the time, have done for many years. The worst part is that this has always been at the heart of the United States of America. The marginalized are dispensable. Gun control, access to health care and education for all, racial conceliation can all be achieved but America doesn't seem to want to do any of it. This is and always has been a violent country and I have always felt out of place. I wish I had a hopeful message.

I am haunted by the image of George Floyd calling for his mother as that murderous cop knelt on his neck and killed him. Of that toddler with the purple little legs on a ventilator from COVID pediatric inflammation syndrome. Another four year old who had access to a loaded gun and shot himself in the head.

I’m just so... I don’t even know how to describe it. Scared, furious, worried, grateful (that it isn’t me or my children). Anyone else?

For the record, I get lots of outdoor exercise, meditate every morning, and eat incredibly well. I have a loving supportive husband and beautiful child. I never watch the news but won’t give up reading the paper.
