Where are you, OP? I have found this differs even neighborhood to neighborhood.

I pay $30/hour for a nanny who regularly works as a theater professor.

My rate for a college kid is $25/hour.

For a certified teacher? $25/hr minimum plus mileage reimbursement at the federal rate

When I was a nanny, without a teaching degree, 5 years ago, my rate was $20/hour. However I cared for 2 toddlers. I would say something between $20 and $25/hr is probably appropriate.

I hired a 19 year old college student to watch one child and am paying $20/hour. In your situation I would pay more. But it's weird she doesn't set her own rate!

That’s way too low! I would start at $25 an hour. You could lose her to someone else willing to pay $30 for two kids.

She asked me what I thought was fair. I have no clue.

You pay her what she asks, OP. You got a great nanny.

You should ask her her rate like you would any other professional. I imagine the rate for an adult teacher would be higher than a college kid home from school.

I have two ES aged kids and I’ve found a ES teacher looking for work as a summer nanny. What would you offer per hour? She said she can help them with their summer work. She has her own car.
