I will follow reasonable precautions to avoid getting it such as distancing and mask wearing. However I am not worried about getting it. There are too many other things to worry about, like finding child care and whether our jobs will survive the recession.

Hoping to get it this summer? No. Resigned to the fact that it is a real possibility? Yes. I'm willing to take some risks (ie daycare) rather than working and providing childcare to young children simultaneously.

We are all healthy and DH and I are under 50, so yes I am comfortable with the less than 1% chance of that happening to us.

If it were guaranteed it wouldn’t be serious and guaranteed to never get it again...sure. Unfortunately, I live in the real world and neither of those things are true.

While I tend to agree with you OP, I don't think we are going back in the fall, so your point of getting covid is moot. But ITA, that at some point, we will all be exposed to it at some point or another.
