It used to be something like 50 (we wanted "just in case" time so that's how many hours we paid for, though often the nanny would work 45 hours).

Now with quarantine we don't go over 40 hours, and sometimes it's less.

It was going to be 45 hours a week pre-COVID because of commute, but now that we're working from home, we're just doing 40 so no overtime.

But it's 40 hours guaranteed. If we cancel a day, finish early or take vacation, we pay the nanny for a full work week.

Nanny shares are typically 40-50 hours, depending on the parents’ work schedules and commutes. Most nannies insist on guaranteed pay for whatever the average week’s hours will be.

First make sure nanny shares are legal wherever you live.

You need whatever you need, but be sure to schedule for yourself plenty of time for commuting, so you aren’t late getting home.

Our nanny works 40 hours a week.

Remember anything over 40 is time-and-a-half.

We are working on setting up a nanny share since daycare is closed. What is the typical nanny work week? I have a friend that said they paid guaranteed hours of 52.5 hours, which seems high to me if I were spending that long at someone else's house! But then again, with commutes, that makes sense for single parents or if parents can't stagger schedules. I have no idea what I'm doing, we were a daycare family but have to plan quickly.
