Now that my DD has had 4 different coaches after Jaon, she realizes what a bunch of unnecessary fear he unleashed on little girls. Shame on Mclean.

Depends on what you want. JA is a pure perfectionist and the girls who are successful emulate this mentality. If you are looking for a different approach, go to another coach. JA is more vocal in his coaching but his intentions are never ill-willed.

My dd had her ball kicked once because she came to practice with it not not fully inflated. Yes she had to look for it but JA does not leave practice before everyone is with their parent or ride home etc. Child did not do it again because I have better things to do then wait for child to look for ball. I was annoyed too but not at JA. Life lesson. As for his yelling okay that is true but he is purposeful in his criticism and agree he is not for anyone not serious about soccer because it only gets tougher the older you get.

He does not kick balls at kids. He kicks balls if you come in with a ball not fully inflated. No one is hit with a ball. Is he warm and fuzzy-no but he is a terrific coach. My kid was not one of his favorites but we are not crazy soccer people. Child improved learning from him. As you get older, more yelling so either you deal with it or find another sport.

I agree he knows soccer but he is a yeller and I'm not sure that is the best for little girls. My DD had him and all the girls were terrified of him. And yes he kicks balls that are not fully inflated. He kicks them into the woods. Then after practice when it is dark you get to go into the woods to look for your kids ball. I think it's a little over the top.

A soccer coach provides a lot of soccer opportunities? what does that even mean?

He is intense and tough, but my daughter liked him and she thinks that he is a good coach. She had a different head coach for her team, but Jaon coached quite a few practices, as well as at least one tournament and some of the league games. I am only speaking from our experience.

I'm not sure what you mean, are you asking about Jaon? My daughter played under him years ago. He was a tough coach but she got a lot out of it and he was fair. And he is very proud of her accomplishments when he sees her play now, even though she left McLean.

Considering having DDs join McLean but have heard some differing views on the AGD, JA. Can anyone provide their perspective on how much influence, positive or negative, that he has had on their DD’s experience? Would it even be a factor?
