We got a Sealy from Costco with one of those boxsprings in a box from amazon for my 3 year old. Works great.

Bumping this thread - we need to buy my four year old a mattress. Prefer not to spend more than $250-300. Is that possible?

We bought the "FLIP by Nest Bedding" mattress on Amazon. It's really comfortable and our 4 year old sleeps so soundly on the firm side. We'll plan to flip it when he's a bit older and get some more years out of it. There was no odor or anything when we took it out of the box. It's such a step up from a lot of the foam mattresses on Amazon. Highly recommend it.

Thanks, I was considering these. Do they offgas initially?

Not that I have ever noticed and I’ve purchased six of them (never replaced them, that’s just how many beds we have).

Thanks!

They have a dozen options online - which one?

In the store they usually only have 1-2 options. We went in store, got a full, put it in the SUV and brought it home but it was pre-virus. It was medium firm but the base also makes a difference in how it feels. It was the cheapest option.

It’s been five years since I had to transition a kid to a bed, and since I’m not going to a mattress store, I thought I’d ask - what medium-firm mattress would you recommend for a four year old?

I’d prefer one that doesn’t off gas!!
