You call your daughter Genevieve Viv and want to name the new baby Vivienne? Or are you saying you would call Vivienne Viv?
I like the names and don’t think they’re pretentious but Genevieve nn Viv and Vivienne would be a no.

I think the range of "normal" is so much bigger for girls' names that pretentiousness is not an issue. And i love, love, love Genevieve.

We know two Genevieves with the NN Vivi. So, Vivienne seems too close.
I think you’ve painted yourself into a corner and need to go with another fancy old world name or at least a very traditional name.
I mean, it would be weird to go with something modern or dated like Heather, Madison or Avery.
What about:
Lila
Maeve
Emma
Elizabeth and call her Lizzie or Libbie.

I don’t see any problem with this whatsoever. Those are nice, classic names. Maybe Genevieve and Vivienne are a little similar, but not so much that I wouldn’t do it.

I don’t live in DC so I’m fine revealing this - I made the mistake of telling an acquaintance what we are going to name our third DD. She said we absolutely should not as our three names are “too pretentious.” We’re thinking of Vivienne and we already have a Genevieve and a Sophie. I don’t really care and we truly just like the names (and don’t think they’ll scar any of them) but.. would you think we are a**holes?
