How mentally competent are your parents and grandparent?
This is beside the point, they are in the high risk group and should not be exposed to grandchildren who have direct daily contact with exposed front line providers. Kids can be a symptomatic transmitters.
I understand that fully. But their level of competence relates to whether the parents can make the decision about the risks for themselves. OP’s obligation is higher the more incompetent they are. And it also speaks to whether she should discuss this first with her parents or her sister.
Op, try both the rational approach and the guilt approach, since guilt works on them. Tell them you don’t want them to die. Tell them you want them to be alive for their grandchildren and you. Tell them they need to protect the grandparent in the house and think how guilty they will feel if grandparent gets sick. Get on this first thing in the morning.
