Subject: Dr letter for postpartum—what’s the standard # of weeks they write note for?
I know someone that got it extended for postpartum depression. I think it’s up to your OB how liberal they’d be with that.

12 weeks is not standard unless you have complications and need longer to recover. I know someone who got excused for an additional 6 weeks but it was because she had an episiotomy revision procedure at the end of the recovery period.

Has anyone gotten a letter for 12 weeks? Or is 6 standard for vaginal delivery and 8 standard for c-section. I’ve heard some practices writing letters for 12 weeks but not sure if those are midwife practices.
