Agree with all of the above, but especially Sam Heughan. Sam is 100% book version of Jamie Fraser.

Casting in Clueless was on point. Plus a young Paul Rudd.

Entire cast of Frasier. Even the supporting cast (Bebe, Lilith, Bulldog, Gil).

Agree with Kevin and Beth. I think young Kate is still so perky, at some point they have to have her slowly morph into moody teenage Kate.

I had a hard time understanding Blake Lively as Serena in the beginning of the show. The main character was talking about how unbelievably beautiful she was in the beginning and I just couldn't buy it. But then I got into the show and started to kind of see it. It made me a fan of Blake Lively, although I still think she has that sort of face that I can't figure out if it's very plain or very beautiful. Same with Gwyneth Paltrow. Both of them have that kind of face with a great body and blonde hair.

Hmm, I tend to think about it when I see entirely well-cast movies or tv shows where I think "a good casting director was working here". Things that come to mind are:

Outlander -- I read the books before I saw the show though the show had started by then. I saw a still of the show after I had started the books and thought, "Wow they found Jamie, how did they do that?" All the other characters seem to fit too.
