Try using Kami software. Our school made it available recently, allows text, drawing, and coloring on PDF docs. No more printing and uploading!

My third grader still asks me questions.

My second grader has ADHD. He's a wiz with the technology. But there is NO WAY hes doing all of his assignments on his own. He needs guidance and persuasion to get everything done. I get home in the evenings and Im not wrestling with him to do work late when we are both tired.

Since Im working out of the house, we do his reading and math work on the weekends (with breaks) and turn it all in at once- I just take pictures and email it to the teacher on Sundays.

My 4th grader is able to work independently and manage the technology for the most part. My second grader can’t.

Same boat here. It’s not independent for my DC and both DH and I help quite a bit during the day.

OP from what I'm hearing, many kids in the middle elementary grades are just starting to get the hang of all of this now that we're 7 weeks in. Even kids without ADHD will have some trouble with this. Some kids get frustrated and upset, others get distracted, it runs the range.

Some of what you're describing - printing Eureka worksheets for that day, logging in to the Benchmark site - can be done at breakfast before you start your work day. Put up a sticky note with a picture of the Benchmark cloud/arrow (save) button to remind him to hit save. Make small checklists for him to follow and at dinner, talk about how it went. Stay positive.

My kid seems to need help sometimes. But only 1 hr per day, the Zoom debrief , has to be done at a certain time, as I understand it. My child’s MCPS 2nd grade teacher is publishing the assignments ahead of time and just suggests turning in all of the week’s work by Friday. I help the day before if we have time, or later that evening if she can’t access the Benchmark book or figure out how to submit the google doc assignment.

Yes, my second grader can navigate google classroom and slides, but has a harder time getting to the right story in her Online reading book.

I honestly feel like she’s teaching herself.

Most elementary kids need somehow and supervision. In second, help!

Sounds complicated. Just tell the teacher that you cannot help during the day and the work will be turned in whenever it gets done.

DC still seems to need help each day pulling up homework on google classroom, printing, finding books on benchmark, and saving underlines and notations within benchmark. Is that common? Can your second grader manage all schoolwork alone? My work schedule doesn’t allow for helping during working hours.
