Bird pop covers your car after afew days.

This sounds obvious in retrospect but take out your garage door opener.

I always had my car in the garage, and DH had his on the driveway. When my DH got a Tesla, his car ended up in the garage so it could get charged and mine in the driveway.

I didn't think it through and still had my clicker in my car. One night some thieves got in my car, ripped off everything, then when they realized they had my clicker, came back and opened the garage and ripped off all in there. I'm so glad we had our interior garage-to-house door locked (sometimes we don't).

Either way your car is a rapidly depreciating asset.

We have homeless people in this country but house our cars.

At least your garage is serving a useful purpose now so enjoy the gym.

Above freezing temperatures, it's all super light cosmetic stuff like bird poop.

Repeated winters below freezing will damage a car.

Car gets dirty. Car gets icy. Car gets hot. Car gets cold.
In time the paint will fade in the sun.

I place a high value on my garage space.

In winter, kind of a pain to scrape off ice and snow but that doesn’t even happen so much anymore. You may decide a home gym is a better use for your garage than storing a car even after thus lockdown is over

I had a car I parked on street, no driveway from 1993 to 2012. Unless car is sitting on dirt or in blazing Phoenix sun or you leave oceanfront with salt air no issues.

You'll just get more bird poop on it. Possibly a lot more bird poop on it.

Of course...just wondering if there’s a significant benefit to keeping it inside if you do you have one.

It gets less dirty. It gets less hot in summer and less cold in winter. Not much else.

Please bear with me as this may be a ridiculous question. We usually store our car in the garage, but as long as we stay at home we are using the garage as a gym so having to move weights and move car in and out is a pain. Is there any downside leaving our car out of the garage for an extended period? Not concerned about it being stolen and it’s in fine shape but not fancy so not worried about it being hit by acorns or anything like that.
