My DC has been very involved in theater since middle school and participated in several theater groups outside of school as well as the school productions every year. I made a photo book on Shutterfly of all of DC's shows, with photos, narration, etc. DC did A LOT of theater so it's about 70 pages long. I can't wait to give it to DC as I think it will be a memory that will last a lifetime.
Another idea is a personal quilt. My sister is a master seamstress and I sent her all of DC's T-shirts and some baby clothes. Everything from school and camp Tshirts to concert Tshirts. She is patching them all together in a quilt that DC will take to college. I believe there are companies that you can find on-line that can do this too.
I think these are more personalized and meaningful gifts that the kids will treasure.
