Subject: Would you send 3yo to daycare if you were pregnant?
I’m keeping my 2 year old home. He was in daycare until March and we withdrew him for next fall. I’m also 34 weeks pregnant. I asked my son’s pediatrician and she recommended to keep him home for the newborn’s sake if we could. We’re going to get a nanny when I go back to work in November, which was not our original plan.

Are you a stay at home parent or do you work for money? If you work, I get sending her but, if you don't than I wouldn't. If tired I would use the tv or other things to occupy her to take a break. I would worry about her bringing something home to you.
I am working full time but from home. My work right now is not super demanding but my husband’s is hence the reason the reason the childcare has called on me for the most part.

Yes. If you have the option, especially home daycare - go for it. Those last few months of pregnancy are no joke, especially with a 3 year old.
I currently have a 3 year old and a 4 month old in a small daycare - it's been 2 weeks now and all is well. They are taking extra precautions and it's a small group of kids 5-6 total.
It's a calculated risk, but relatively low.

I am due in August and am not sending my 2 year old back to school whenever it opens. I am going to need my mom's help with the new baby and don't want my son to be a risk to her, to me and DH, and to the new baby. It certainly was not the plan and I am stressed about it. Our son is at a school with more kids than what you're describing though, so I might feel differently if he was only going to be around a couple kids (although that will surely change as people go back to work).
Are you paying for your current child's daycare? If not, is there any way you could stretch and hire a sitter to come to you a couple hours a day to help with your 3 year old? I know that doesn't eliminate the risk, but it seems like less of a risk than daycare.

Send her. And let go of any guilt you feel. Exhaustion is not good for you or the baby. Think of it as triage. Taking care of you also has the benefit of taking care of your baby.

I’m pregnant too (though not as far along as you). I have a 3 year old and I will be sending her back to daycare the moment it opens back u. If I had the option of a trusted in home I would totally do it! We all need a freaking break! It will be better for everyone!
