We just found out our former home daycare provider (which we loved) is still open but with only 2 or 3 children in attendance (normally they have 12 kids and 4 caretakers). My husband and I have been working from home but his job has been so busy that all the childcare has been on me 75%. DH has been really great about giving me breaks when he can throughout the day but still. Also, I’m 34 weeks pregnant with #2 and just so exhausted.
We are really tempted to ask our old daycare if we can send our daughter to them at least on a part time basis until her preschool reopens. But I’m struggling with the idea only because I’m pregnant and we’re about to have a newborn. I don’t think the risk would be great at all but it would be more than if she were to stay home with us through the summer and my maternity leave.
What would you do? With such a small group of kids the risk would be minimal right? Or should we just wait until after the baby is born to see what the situation looks like in northern VA and then make a decision?
Are you a stay at home parent or do you work for money? If you work, I get sending her but, if you don't than I wouldn't. If tired I would use the tv or other things to occupy her to take a break. I would worry about her bringing something home to you.
