Not PP but it's not about staying in the bubble it's about people taking the proper precautions while returning to some sense of normalcy. I'm all about re-opening but we can't just jump from 0-100 when this thing is still being spread around.

MoCo, PGC and DC Gov were communicating regularly. I assume they talked with NoVa counties as well. Hence, they all had similar open dates.

And youth sports and camps were bumped up to stage 1


Phase 1: Limited, low contact outdoor practices with groups of 10 (9 kids + 1 coach). No games allowed.

Look up Montgomery County Gov website for more details.

There now seems to be a mad dash to open it all up. Northern Virginia starts Phase I today and there are discussions about NOVA entering Phase II on June 5th with the rest of the state.

Why can’t tryouts happen in June?

Don’t know about NoVa, but currently in MoCo, MD, they allow a group of kids + 1 coach for outdoor activities during Phase 1.

Of course clubs have to be optimistic and plan ahead. They cant be silent- if they are, come June or july when things relax (they wont though), theyd be way behind.

I’m starting to see ads on Facebook from Virginia clubs about tryouts coming in June. Clubs are small. Is this going to happen or some kind of individual socially distanced tryouts?
