Save your money. Management at the club currently (2024) is terrible. Prices are rising fast. They are trying to compete with the big DC clubs while forgetting they are in the suburbs. Management is out of touch with the members. Golf is over 100k to join. You will spend thousands every month if you actually use the place. Assessments are something to be prepared for!
Golf is nice but not at this price…

Many better & well run clubs in the Northern Virginia area

Bumping (not OP but also considering membership at Westwood, mainly for golf), and can anyone address what this PP is saying? What gets you suspended? I was a member of a CC growing up, the only time anyone was ever kicked out that I'm aware of was related to always being obviously intoxicated.

What is the initiation fee for under 40?

People there are insufferable and vapid.

It's a nice place. I'd join, but the drive bombed from Oakton to Arlington could be problematic...

It depends how much your kids want to swim on a swim team with kids they know from their local schools. My cousin left Westwood’s team because they were missing out on seeing their friends at summer swim and found the social aspect of a Vienna team much better.

My friends all seem to like it, the pool is large and has a bar. The swim team seems to get a lot of kids. The restaurant is pretty good, we've been a few times and its ok, typical country club food, they have theme nights and a buffet and a bar. They have a kids club babysitting room which is nice to have, they will order dinner for the kids. The gym looks ok in passing, but I've never used it, but some of my friends did go there regularly.

Overall the pool at Riverbend is a little nicer but its not quite as large.

We are considering joining to take advantage of the under 40 initiation fee. We have three kids who all love golf and swimming. My husband is an avid golfer. I would probably use the gym.

Tours right now are obviously not really possible - my husband was able to play the course, but none of the kids stuff/restaurant/gym is open, so hard to gauge. Anybody a member/former member?
Thanks in advance!
