When Old Navy, KPMG and People Magazine became corporate sponsors a few years back, I knew right then and there Pride Week was officially dead.

It got a plain vanilla-rainbow flag-corporate-whitewash treatment, and suddenly the Leather and D/s crowd was no longer welcome.

When I see obviously straight couples taking their 9 year olds to Pride parades, I want to barf. They have totally killed Pride.

Just think about how amazing next year's will be. I am straight, but I still really look forward to it. I can only imagine how meaningful it is for those in the LGBTQIA community. What a bummer.

Meaning? Please do explain. As a parent of a kind, beautiful LGBTQ kid, I hope didn’t mean to make a hurtful comment. If you did, I’ll report you. So please explain.

Probably just meant organizers were late in canceling given that COVID continues to spread and Pride is basically thousands of people in close contact. Also, some of us are over Pride as it's become so corporate and we've become old and boring. I do get that it's a big deal for a lot of young people and I'm sorry your kid is missing out this year.

I agree, it’s a shame. Hopefully it just means next year will be twice the fun.

Organizers will rally and probably do something fabulous online. Look at Lady Gaga's show, or "the shows must go on" from andrew lloyd webber. there is innovation coming out of this situation. take care.

My favorite week of the year, and you just know it’s not going to happen now. Even if the lockdowns are technically over by then, it still won’t be the same. The energy won’t be there. People will still be acting scared. No parade, definitely none of the huge parties... just feeling so deflated thinking about it.
