I would assume the parents actually do know.

How about you talk to that nanny and remind her that the family she works for is practicing social distancing and she should be mindful. Why ruin her financial stability? Just think and stop being such a coward.

What are you even talking about with the shoes? How do you know if people take them off? And Covid-19 is almost certainly not all over anyone's floors. This is weird.

Actually, my shoes stay outside, just as recommended. And I don’t know about you, but I disinfect the floor thoroughly.

Neither one has any bearing on whether a family should be told when the nanny is being dishonest and jeopardizing the health of the whole family.

She’s an adult. She’s knows the family wants her social distancing. As a nanny, I would absolutely tell the family if I saw their nanny doing this. I would further recommend that they make a point of going to the park to see for themselves rather than taking my word for it.

THIS! Thank you, PP. For the love- do not let them know it’s you. No matter the outcome, there will be repercussions. Somehow it will get turned around because they’re embarrassed.

Yes. It’s risky behavior and perhaps not what the parents wanted.

Or maybe the parent is actually fine with this and only pretended the nanny was distancing because she sensed you wanted to hear that...

Yes. Tell. Maybe the parents know and are just fronting with you. Who knows? But if they don’t know, they will be very glad you told them.

Yes. Definitely bring it up with the parents. There is a newly discovered form of COVID 19 that is killing kids. This is nothing to f around with.

Yes. Immediately. Let the parents decide. Say it in a non threatening way so they will hear you in case they have thought this through and have an actual plan here.

But yes... please tell the parents.

I go for a walk every day around 11am and walk past a park. It used to be empty but now there are about 6 nannies that gather with about 8 -10 kids that are all playing together. One nanny watches a child a few doors down and the child’s mom told me they let the nanny come back because she was practicing “strict social distancing.” The parents think their kid is on a walk, not a play date with a dozen others at the park a mile away. I mean, they aren’t bothering me so I’m in the live and let live camp, but it seems to be breaking the stay at home orders. We are in NOVA.
