I think the rant can be generalized... there are people who just want to make everything about themselves.
I have a couple old friends like this and I just hide their social media posts. And I try to have sympathy, too. People who are truly happy don't need constant external approval and attention.

Good grief, OP. It’s not a zero-sum game. Enjoy your kids, if any, and your own mom, if applicable, and don’t worry about the rest of it.

All holidays are made up, yet many of them hold deep meaning for lots of people.

I had a child free aunt for various reasons - cysts, fear of genetic issues, $
And on mother's day her sisters would get her a little thing for being mom like to her nieces and nephews, it was sad all around.
Mothers and fathers day both should be eliminated imo. My kids had a highly abusive dad and fathers day was so hard when they were young. Every day is mothers/fathers day if you have or are somewhat decent parents.

Mother’s Day is a completely made up holiday. Plus I know some women who really wanted kids but were unable to. They refer to themselves as dog moms; I don’t they go so far as to celebrate mother’s day, but it wouldn’t bother me in the least.

No it's not. I would hope the vet I am trusting to take care of my animals isn't treating their lives as if they don't matter. And for their own sake they'd better not, too, since more and more states are allowing damages beyond economic value in veterinary negligence cases.
And to the "real" moms who are irritated at the child free women who you are pissed at for coopting your day: we only do it to annoy you. So just ignore or else you're playing right into our dastardly scheme.

This. If these are your friends then decide if you want to let it go because otherwise they're cool people. If they're not your friends then who cares. I know plenty of child free by choice women and not one of them has said anything remotely close to this and most of them have animals. Many of them wished me a happy Mother's Day as well (not necessary at all).

Am I the only one that finds this utterly obnoxious? I know several women who are child free by choice and spend the other 364 days of the year railing against children and families and going on about how it’s better to be child free. Then Mother’s Day comes around and they’re all over social media wishing themselves a happy Mother’s Day because they are “dog moms.” Just stoppppp.
