No way NCSL will operate spring or summer. No local jurisdiction will be allowing contact sports. If they cancel and return the money, they need to fire their director.

NCSL Return to Practice and Play is going to be tied to DC Area COVID-19 response. Those of us who want a return to practice and open fields need to start getting in the ears of local officials in a constructive way. Fairfax County parks and fields are still currently blocked off and closed though the evidence points to outdoors in the sunlight as one of the safer (and healthier) places to be.

It really pissed me off to hear that DC has relaxed open container laws so DC Bars can serve To Go cocktails. DC area politicians are lobbying for extended lockdown authority and meanwhile they are relaxing laws for DC Bars? Meanwhile we cannot take walks in parks or practice on soccer fields. Things are out of whack and I don't think the politicians are seeing things clearly. We are calling this a lockdown while it is really becoming more of an arbitrary restriction of certain activities.

Feel free to risk your DC. Certain things are worth risking and certain things are not. Youth Soccer is certainly not worth risking until vaccinations.

Don’t they need to know whether the county fields are opening?

Games better be either early in the morning or late in day if they're going to do two a weekend in the middle of the summer. Can't imagine games midday in July. Plus, some tournaments are still trying to pull off play in June.
