My OB required it, and I had vaginally births. She’s a good doctor, and doesn’t take insurance. My guess is insurance wouldn’t pay for “unnecessary” 2 week appointments.
Which is BS, because most women who die post partum are dead by six weeks. It’s too late by then. And most insurances will cover the two weeks visit, which is a huge reason other rich countries have lower maternal mortality rates. Call and ask.
