It's the best! You can read the reviews, get a sense of how different shoes fit, and order a couple of sizes to try. And when you find a pair you like, you can wear them around the house for a few days to be sure they really are comfortable.

I've never had a problem sending the rejects back for a refund, and I've ordered as many as 6 or 8 pairs at a time. It's kind of a pain to haul the boxes to the UPS store, but it's still better than dragging a cranky kid all over town trying to find shoes they don't hate.

OP here...thanks for all the suggestions. It gives me a lot to go on. For now I'll be ordering a pair and seeing how it goes so at least she has something to wear.

Take her to have shoes fit when stores reopen. Shoe Train, RAMER’s, Nordstrom. They will be able to help find shoes that fit better.

Have you tried Asics or Saucony?

For summer sandals, you can try Tevas or something similar where you can easily adjust the width.

My DD has long, skinny. “low-volume” feet and she loves her Chucks. She did OK with Nike running shoes for a while, but always seems to come back to Chucks. If yours still doesn’t like the way the Chucks look, try the Converse Dainty style (I order from Zappos). They look like classic Chucks at a glance, but the sole is less clunky and the upper part is cut lower and shorter than the regular Chucks, so feet don’t look quite so banana-like. I have super-skinny ankles and calves and comparatively big feet, and I think the Dainty look better on me.

MY 11 year old DD has an EXTREMELY skinny foot. But at the same time, she has an extremely LONG big toe! So in order to find shoes that fit her well, we have to buy shoes a size bigger than she would need if she had a normal sized (haha) big toe. She also has very tiny ankles and then the shoes look ridiculously big on her but there is not much I can do about it except look for shoes that might be built for a more narrow foot.
