Not on flower beds. It won’t benefit the soil one bit.

We did it near a downspout. Before that, mulch/dirt just splattered in the house every time it rained. It’s been hard to maintain. You have to have a vacuum to get the leaves out. I think the sheets of rubber mulch would be easier.

That being said, my best friend has this high end AstroTurf in her backyard and it’s amazing. Kids love to play on it, no one gets dirty and no one has to mow. It’s breathable so water goes through it. You just vacuum leaves. It’s really soft to walk on too

It wouldn't be my choice. Same problem with rocks. Real mulch breaks down and becomes (and improves) the soil. Everything else gets buried in dirt and debris, and weeds grow through it, and when you dig to plant something you hit rock and rubber. It will only look like the photo for a short while.

I’ve only heard horrible things about it. It smells in the heat, leeches chemicals and hard metals into the ground and ground water and is a fire hazard.

I used it for flower beds and didn’t like it because it would get “dirty” as leaves would fall, debris would get in it, etc. I thought it would reduce the need to redo every season but it didn’t so I saw no benefit.
