I am against registering users. I have identified too many posters already. Registering will make it too easy to identify posters and all their posts. The coaches and clubs read this board.

Well, it's not happening and that's why we're here! DA parents are very determined to analyze every single soccer move...

Please separate the forum!

I agree they should be separated. Every once in a while someone tries to talk about boys teams in a discussion about girls. Or about the men’s premier league as if that is relevant to a girls soccer discussion.

Just report the posts that are off-topic. Having separate forums does nothing to prevent what you described.

I think that was suggested and even a sticky for awhile, but no one followed that advice.

Agree about registration and coach/club retaliation. I'm in a Facebook soccer parents group with named users and people are much more restrained when talking about gripes with clubs and coaches due to those concerns.

I like the idea of separating them but I don't think it's practical because of the non-gender specific topics that are valuable to all parents. I don't think making those items "Off Topic". I think 'we" need to be better at specifying in the name of the topic whether it's boys or girls. We just have to hope that people cooperate.

Even threads dedicated to boys soccer currently end up being submerged by a tsunami of nasty comments on girls teams.

Those posts can be reported as off-topic.

Where would people post questions that aren’t specific to boys or girls teams, like questions about tryout schedules/formats or discussions of refund/credit policies for cancelled seasons?

These are very different worlds, and unfortunately, people do not tend to speak specifically about girls vs. boys when discussing a lot of the clubs and leagues in the forum. So necessary? Prrobably not. Better? No question.

This was a comment that came up in the discussion of a registered user forum. There is so-so support for a registered user forum, but there seems to be rather broad support for a split between boys and girls forums, especially given the confusion that is created with posts talking about "Arlington" x-y-z for pages but people not knowing (and responding) thinking it is the boys team when it is the girls team, or vice versa. Earlier we had to create two identical threads to talk about a major subject (US soccer nationwide changes), one for boys, one for girls, and it made things quite a bit easier to follow.

Please consider this as you review the outcome of the other discussion.

Hi Jeff,

The soccer forum is a mess to follow between Boys Soccer and Girls Soccer. Could you separate them just like you did Virginia Schools forum and AAP forum?

Hoping this would make conversations a lot more productive, less confusing and a lot less hateful.

It's is getting out of hand down there...
