This would lift strict stay-at-home orders and start to allow some flexibility around movement, outdoors activities and businesses that can operate with strict distancing rules. He has been talking about looking for a plateau in hospitalizations for weeks now. A neighbor started a job at one of the testing labs doing data entry, and he said a lot of tests are coming in, so the test everyone in nursing homes with cases has been implemented. I think they will announced distance learning for the rest of the year for schools, and that Hogan is aiming for June 1 for stage 1, even if he doesn't say it yet. (I think he'll wait until after Memorial Day, so that people aren't ridiculous right away with gatherings.)

I think it really depends on the camp and the structure of it. My college kid is working at a sleep-away camp in PA that is still on, but with a lot of social distancing implemented. 1/3 usual campers, much more spacing, different activities, and effectively quarantined at camp - no visitors and no in-and-out. I could see some outdoor day camps operating in a similar fashion. Indoor camps with younger kids that operate as a daycare? Not stage 1. Might be allowed if they operate like the daycares currently open for essential workers.
What did they do, tell 2/3 of the kids signed up that they weren't allowed to come after all? How did they decide who would still be allowed to come and who wouldn't?

Anonymous wrote:I’m hearing stage 1 earlier. The trend has been going down or relative plateau on key metrics for MD for past few days (Tuesday is always a blip due to weekend reporting) Cases are NOT the metric for stage 1 for MD since they are increasing testing by definition cases rise especially with universal testing at nursing homes. ICU, hospitalizations and deaths are key metrics
Agree likely distance learning for rest of year.
