Yeah, I didn’t think she was interrupting particularly. He didn’t seem annoyed to me either. He was reading off the names of the charities though, and that took a bit of his available brain power.

Is she actually a Russian that was born in Ukraine? Or Ukrainian that like so many speaks Russian in her family? I think I heard her say in interviews that she is Russian.

I have no clue, but her parents are amazing.

I am the same ethnicity as her and came to the US around the same age. It's just traces of our Eastern Euro accent - pronouncing certain things differently.

I too learned English by watching American TV - Full House and Saved by the Bell, mostly!

I think that is her compensating for her accent. I’ve worked with a number of people over the years that are from Russia or other Eastern Bloc countries and they either had a minimal accent or sounded similar to her. Also, she moved to the US at 7 and learned English here. Not surprising she doesn’t have a Ukranian accent.
