Boaz is better by far. I also like Libnah, and Bidkar, and Jehoiada.

It’s a lovely Hebrew name. The idiots here won’t like it because it’s not “classic” (i.e. Anglo) even though it is biblical.

I actually would think the person was Mormon. It’s not the worst name and it’s better than a lot of the dumb trendy names like Hudson

Yeah, and Hiram was so bad he went by ULYSSES. Not a ringing endorsement.

Lol have you ever met even one Orthodox Jew? It would be just as weird with them as with anyone else. Hiram is a big no.

I would have said more evangelical or maybe Amish or something. I don't know any Jews who named their kid Hiram. I mean there's Saul and Ira and Solomon, and then there's Hiram. Totally different category.

I know a child named Hiram. I think it's a good name.

I think you just found a name worse than Saul OP. it’s a really old fashioned name. I mean old like 1800’s old.

Was it ever in favor? Since 1900, its popularity has been steadily falling, for the most part, falling from #271 in 1900 to #968 in 1983. Since then it hasn't even been in the top 1000.

What ever happened to this name? I think I really like it but I'm concerned by how quickly it fell out of favor. Is there something particularly wrong with it? I wrote my undergrad senior thesis on Hiram Johnson and have loved the name since then but now that it's time that I could potentially use it, I can't help but be concerned.
