Typically I have custody of my daughter 4 days/week, but broken up. These days I have her for 4 days straight, then I'm flying solo for 3 days. I get pretty grouchy on that 4th day. I'm not used to having people around 4 days in a row. My kid is pretty cool but I am praying for camps to happen!

I fantasize about this in non-Quarantine life too. Unfortunately, we have no grandparents capable of caring for the kids.

I keep telling myself that maybe this will happen this summer. I don't know if it will, but the thought is keeping me going!

Mine are 3 and 5.

I am fantasizing about traveling though... I cannot wait to be able to go on a trip!

And, my kids are older (10 and 5) and pretty independent. If I had a baby/toddler or needing preschooler, I would be going crazy right now.

Right?! I love my kids a lot, but I'm ready for a vacation. I feel like my kids are stuck to me. My 4 year old was hysterical and in tears today because she could only find her dad in the house and couldn't find me (I was in my closet changing). She's never had any separation anxiety, but I guess being with both of us 24/7 has started to get to her.

If you can completely isolate yourself and trust your parents to do the same for 2 weeks, you should feel comfortable sending them away. The reality of the virus will not change any time soon, even when the restrictions ease, so if staying with grandparents is a priority to you at all this year, you need to take actions to make that a safe choice. Of course, this isn't possible for everyone (if you still have to go to an office now for example, or if traveling to see grandparents requires a flight or longer than 4ish hour drive). But if it's a priority for you both, get working on it now.

Hope it's not bad. I sent my 6 year old to grandparents or her dad during the week, she comes home on weekends. Six month old baby is home with me. I couldn't figure out how to work from home with two kids.

There are people like this everywhere. This is why we will be dealing with COVID for a brutally long time.

No. We were supposed to have the kids at Grandma's in June for a week, and at sleepaway camp for a week in August. We love them but it was going to be great for them, and for us.

Sucks.

Every single one of my friends who has kids is feeling this way. We are very used to having grandparents take DS for nights, weekends, and sometimes longer. DS has really struggled with not seeing them.

On top of that, DH and I are both working and DS (7) has been doing online learning since mid March. We are all stressed out and need a break.

I'm literally dreaming about when restrictions let up and I can send my kids 4.5 and 7 to their grandparents for 1-2 weeks. Both of our parents live within 30 mins of each other and they could stay a week at each! My kids would be thrilled, it would be so good for us all!
