Wood tone is more practical and will stay cleaner than white.

To be clear - most medium to high end white cabinets are wood. What you're talking about is non-painted wood cabinets.

So happy that wood cabinets are coming back in style! I am planning to do a kitchen renovation in next few years and want something similar to picture #2.

We just renovated with all wood cabinets. Love it.

I prefer wood with our heavily used kitchen and busy lifestyle. I love the current white on white cool tone look, but 100% believe it look dated in 10 years. Many of our neighbors have recently updated to white subway tile, white stone countertops, and white painted mission style cabinets.

Just don’t get high gloss white

I think it all depends on the relationship with the floor. It needs to pick up on a tone in the wood floor but not match exactly or it will overwhelm. Better with tile or stone floor, in many cases.

We redid our kitchen a few years back with real wood cabinets and I still love them. I hate the cold, white, sterile kitchens of today.

I really like the second picture. We’re planning a Reno and I’m pretty sure I already have that one pinned.

yes, I agree. Any idea what we are looking for if we want to do a look similar to that? I am willing to pay a little more for higher quality than it would be for white cabinets since this is our forever home. About 1 mil value so don't want to over improve but willing to do splurge a bit on something that will last. I would probably mix in some white uppers.

There's going to be such a glut of white cabinet houses in about 5-10 years that will instantly date the house and make it considered cheap. The exact same thing happened in the late 90s, everyone was doing white painted cabinets. By 2005 you knew to instantly click past any house or condo with white cabinets because "oh man those are 1993 cabinets"

My Mom has wood cabinets like these. The same wood was used to make beams across the ceiling. It's cool.

I love the look of white, but my kids are really a mess and I don't have the time for upkeep. Our doors and mouldings are dirty all the time from little hands. I have a classic style home. I am considering doing wood cabinets, which is what we currently have (super outdated). I would select a custom cabinet builder and high quality wood, not a veneer. I'm thinking something along the lines of this with a mix of white countertops. We have a big black metal window being installed as well.



I am also considering a light blue for cabinets.
