1. Any new exercise that works muscles you don’t usually train, or train the same way, will make you sore.

2. As we age, we get more sore.

3. Are you stretching correctly? It’s an art. What people don’t realize is that they need to consciously relax their muscles at the height of the stretch, otherwise they won’t actually get any benefits from it. Breathe deeply and relax into your stretch. Stretch slowly and often. It cannot be hurried.

4. Magnesium helps.

I do high resistance spin regularly and mixed it up with a 20 min intermediate yoga class and my legs are so incredibly sore it is difficult to work out at all! Anyone know why?

I’m a daily 4-5 mile runner and added peloton recently. My legs have been infinitely more fatigued from peloton than they ever have been from running.

Ice, compression and rest. For compression, a wide elastic ace bandage around your hammie will help immensely and speed up the process by a alot. They also make compression sleeves for hamstrings that are easier to use because you can slip them on, but sizing is important so you'd be taking a guess if you ordered online.

Hamstrings can be really nagging injuries if you don't handle them correctly. Be very careful about going out running again. Once you feel 100%, you need to work back up to it, starting with walks.

Can you share what you have? I have an autoimmune and suspect I am developing another one that attacks my muscles. I'm trying to find a doctor that will see me for the potential of Mysthenia gravis but most places aren't starting new people right now.

Myositis.

Would you consider a multivitamin to be enough? Thanks!

Need Alkaline diet. There is lactic acid build up. So along with the supplements, drink lemon water or baking soda in water or any anti inflammation diet.

Could be a vitamin / mineral deficiency. Low vit d or low iron etc. Might be worth getting checked out with some blood work.

Maybe you’re pushing too hard? Maybe you have good aerobic lung capacity so you can go harder on the spin bike or whatever, but your muscles need you to work up to it.

Does this happen with just Yoga? Or when you’re working out doing other things too.

Do you take rest days?

You need to do more warm up before and more cool down and stretching afterwards.
