This is from Costco's website:

Regulations in some states, territories or cities have limited purchases to only essential items. Items deemed non-essential may be purchased at Costco.com. Adhering to these regulations requires that Costco not sell normally available items or categories at its locations. This could affect warehouses located in:

Michigan
Puerto Rico
Texas
Vermont

You should ask to speak to the manager.

Yes. I went to Target in Sunday night just to get out. I bought two new books and snacks. There was only maybe five other shoppers, all men.

I'm in VA and I've been to Wal-mart 3 times during quarantine. I've bought greeting cards, yard supplies, Easter basket stuff. Everything that Wal-mart sells can be bought.

In some states, they were blocking off aisles of non-essential items in open stores so people could only buy food. So it’s not a dumb question.

So what? I’m so tired of you people who want everyone to feel as miserable as you are.

I don’t make any special trips just to get non-food items, but if I am in Target or Walmart anyway, I do pick up non-essential items that make my DD’s life as a young teen quarantined in a 900 sq ft apt more bearable.

Still sounds nonessential to me, even if the store is open.

The only thing you weren't able to buy in Michigan was gardening items. That's now rescinded and we can buy all the mulch we like.

Stores that are open are selling all their regular stock, so you can buy non-food/non-essential items.

I forgot to get a birthday gift and I haven't been to any stores other than Giant since the CV. Are the regular non-food/supplies areas of these stores open? Any ideas for a 20 y.o. female college student who is now at home?
