PreK is not a required grade. There’s no repeating it. Op should just drop it.

There are so many kids who are way ahead. They should not have to repeat a grade because they did not do busywork.
OP, you have the whole summer to ask your kids to do some work because of the school closings. This school business is getting in the way of my kid's education. Can't wait for May 29, so we all can stop acting like we are following this useless curriculum.

Children six and under learn best through play. Let your younger one play. They're not getting the online schooling you're "paying for" anyway, so just let the tuition concept go.

Have your older ones do what they can. Tell them a half hour in the morning and a half hour in the afternoon is all that is mandatory.

Our preschooler had no interest in the Zoom sessions (I was very surprised) and we are not forcing. It is about the preschool providing SOMEthing so they don't feel guilty about making us pay tuition for no care. I have no idea how I would manage two kids with this zoom business.

THIS!!! One of my K kids was sick of doing a reading group because the other kids were too slow. In a 30-minute Zoom session she got way less out of it than she would if we read with her for 5 minutes. So we no longer do it. Do what you need to survive, and by all means, having a preschooler doing online school is not one of those things! Do you have parents or other family who would be willing to have a FaceTime play session with the preschooler instead? That way they're entertained but it's easy for you?

No, the solution is for OP to opt out of the preschool activities.

Let go of the preschooler for sure. You can even slow the pace for elementary kids. They will have all summer to "catch up".

The other option is to not participate in all the activities. It’s not like you have high schoolers preparing to take online AP exams, like I have, and it’s safer than opening up before the state is ready just because you feel like you’re missing out...

I have 3 kids - 1 in preschool and 2 in elementary. It is hard enough getting these older kids to get to their live classrooms and do their assignments. Our preschool doesn’t want to return our tuition so they also have live instruction and assignments and activities. It is such a pain to do. There are parents where their preschool child is their only child or they have an infant and a preschool child. They do all these elaborate art projects and activities. I feel like absolute crap. I’m on the brink of a nervous break.

I need the world to open back up. I cannot handle being stuck at home. I will take the risk of getting coronavirus.
