Probably 60% have been exposed but not all people show symptoms. Very few people ever get tested; the blood test is not super accurate so unless there’s an outbreak and a cold sore can be swabbed most drs don’t bother with it.

If they've been exposed it doesn't mean they have it so they wouldn't show symptoms.

Yes. I’d be furious if someone didn’t disclose this to me, and if I found out later on I’d immediately dump them for being dishonest.

+1. As with PP, if you give it to her on her genitals she effectively has genital herpes and it will affect her dating life. Having an outbreak during childbirth can also be catastrophic if not treated.

Just because you grew up with that condition doesn't mean others who didn't will be okay having your disease.

I guess not as long as you don’t have an outbreak, but obviously be careful. Contrary to what PPs said, some of us have never had a cold sore end would prefer for it to stay that way.

Gross people. If she gets cold sores and the guy gets infected he could sue. Think of Jim Carrey who gave genital herpes to his ex girlfriend who later committed suicide.

YES. You must. As someone who contracted HSV 1 from an asymptomatic boyfriend from oral sex, you must disclose this. It’s herpes. Let’s kill the stigma.

Recently divorced. Got cold sores as a kid. No big deal, and haven't had an outbreak in several years.

Read up about it, about 60% of adults have it which means a good chunk of people don't.

So do people disclose this? Before kissing? Or oral? I've never had anyone disclose to me and surely many people I dated and kissed had it.
