The S Korean test was actually a very low tech but effective test. It can give a false positive but not a false negative.

This meant that people were able to be cleared for going for work if they were negative, and quarantined and monitored if positive.

Family was also quarantined (except for 1 person to go buy essential groceries etc) if a person was tested positive.

Simple, cheap, low tech but brilliant.

Does anyone know if there are any good antibody tests for this virus ? I’ve read the antibody tests aren’t so accurate. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/19/us/coronavirus-antibody-tests.html

It seems the tests can't distinguish between COVID-19 antibodies and other coronavirus antibodies. So if somebody has recently had a common cold caused by another coronavirus, there could be a false positive.
