Is there a way to find out whether a center got a PPP loan? Ours said they'd applied, but are still charging tuition during the closure.

Our center is using their ppp loan for 2 months of payroll so they can forgive 2 months of tuition.

I want to know this too- our daycare had been asking for donations in lieu of charging tuition, but now they have a PPP loan. In their most recent email update they didn’t say anything about still wanting parent donations, so I imagine everyone will stop donating? I wish they’d be more transparent. We can continue to donate if needed but if we are the only ones to do so what good does it do.


The forgiveness guidelines aren’t totally clear yet. Many aren’t counting on it until there’s a process in place. It’s supposed to be for 2 months of salaries, plus rent and utilities. Salary has to be 75% of the forgiven amount. And the employees have to be employed (not furloughed).

Yes. They were able to go back and pay staff in full for April and May and reduce our tuition because of it.

Your daycare employs 200 people?


This sounds like the day care my child attends. It is at a JCC, so the 200 employees are the 200 JCC employees (many part time), not just the daycare employees. Hopefully they can get PPP money in the next round.

Ours applied and so some (don't know if it's all) teachers are off furlough and taking care of some kids of essential employees.

We know ours applied, but have not heard any update one way or another. I am assuming this means they did not get the loan, although I don't really know.
