My sibling is a doctor in NYC. She relies on the subway to get to work. They are murdering more folks if people like her cannot get to work. She has no car and cost wise couldn't afford the trip via cab/uber 5-7 days a week. Its probably safer being on the subway than in her hospital.
This.
If no subway in NYC, most doctors and nurses wont get be able to get to hospitals. (And, taking an Uber may actually be more risky because in a car are much closer to and have more frequent contact with, surfaces touched my others. Driving personal car not a viable option)
NYC is not like DC.

That's not true. Wear a mask, keep your distance from other passengers, and wash your hands after you get off.
If it's shut down then the city will likely need to shut down many essential businesses because people wont be able to get to work.

My sibling is a doctor in NYC. She relies on the subway to get to work. They are murdering more folks if people like her cannot get to work. She has no car and cost wise couldn't afford the trip via cab/uber 5-7 days a week. Its probably safer being on the subway than in her hospital.

Most people don't have car so doctors like my sibling and other staff have no way to get to work. An uber or cab would be a fortune each way.
