$700/year for 2 drivers and one car in DC. No traffic violations or collisions. Anyone else in our boat? Are we overpaying?

Is that an annual quote? Where do you live? Cause if what you are saying is true, I am way overpaying for one ten year old car with minimal violations and one fender bender eight years ago. Who's your carrier?

usaa is our carrier

$1270 a year for two drivers (one spotless records, one with a ticket or two over the years... oops) for an '08 Honda and an '06 BMW. In VA.

wow, i think i may be overpaying by a lot. I pay about $900/year on a 6-year-old car with no accidents or claims in the last 21 years. I never questioned it before.

I always recommend that people try Erie Insurance. Their rates have generally been FAR lower than anywhere else, but they also appear to be somewhat pickier about who they insure.

We pay just over $1000 a year for 2 cars - 08 minivan and 06 performance car.

I think mine is about $700 a year for a five year old car. OP, are you still carrying collision & comprehensive on your car? Depending on how much the car is worth it may make sense to drop that coverage at your car's age. Also, I agree that where you live makes a big difference in rates. I'm in VA, and when I lived in MD it was more and when I lived in DC it was highest of all.

Yikes! about $1000 for two cars an 01 and an 04. This is going to vary a lot depending on where you live as well as driving records. Mine is high but when I lived in the city it was MUCH higher. I don't remember the exact amount but it dropped by almost half. And all I did was move.

We pay around $600 for 2 cars - 5yo Toyota Camry and 5yo Dodge Ram (no violations). Not sure how that compares and we get some discounts because we also have home and business insurance with the same provider.

We pay $400 every 6 months for a 10 year old car (2 adult drivers; no driving violations). Does that sound right. What do you pay?
