I use a "large" TV in my home office because that is what I had. TVs do not have nearly as good of resolution as monitors. This means that text gets blurry around the edges. If you fiddle with the setting and move back far enough, you can get it to look ok. That said, if you are going to buy something, just buy a monitor.

Most computers either have HDMI output or you can get some sort of adapter (at Walmart or Office Depot) to hook whatever plug you have into HDMI on the TV. There may be some audio issues though with some HDMI inputs.

Do you have a TV now? Why don't you try it out first and see how you like the 'big screen' before investing in a new one.

Bigger question is not if you can do this (most TVs make it easy) but whether you should do this

We hook our laptop up to our current large screen tv in our family room for extended family zoom calls. You probably don't need to buy anything new, just need the right cable from current computer to current tv.

If like to get a really big tv to use for zoom and work as my vision is impaired (luckily not hugely but enough that hours a day staring at 13” screen is not working). What kind of tv to I need to get? I am assuming that I need an hdmi hookup. Any suggestions for getting one with a clear bright picture and ideally one that I don’t need to hang on a wall since no handyman right now. I am thinking 60-72”. I don’t own any tv right now so I am out of touch here. Thanks in advance for advice and snark is welcome as I am sure I have earned it.
