More chores and exercise done by my kids (and less of the chores by me) as a way for them to access screen time. They are pushing on me pretty hard on getting more screen time, but are picking up both activities to earn that - with lots of verbal harassment. By then they should be used to these expectations 😀

You can set up zoom/facetime/skype connections to the other children at the same time they have been doing them through school. I keep seeing people talk about the connection to friends as though only the school can facilitate it. If you need someone's number you can reach out to the teacher and request they pass the information along

I dunno.

I am an educated sahm. I have been involved with teaching my kids at home. My work has increased because everyone is at home and I am cooking for everyone for all three meals. I guess I will continue to hold the home fort as always. My cleaning lady has not been coming and it is a tad painful.

I would love to have a daily maid and a daily gardner come in and do some work for 1 - 2 hours like other countries.

That's if their parents allow them to "work" under these current cirumstances.

I'm gonna telework from my sister's house where at least kids can play with their cousins and there's a pool.

Lots of play time in the yard, prepared math and literacy lessons, cooking, free play, etc.

Honestly it won’t be any different for me. I am finding it hard enough to balance my kids’ class time and teacher office sessions and work with my own. So they will just have more free time to play, watch tv, and hopefully continue their learning apps.

We are in MCPS but assuming this is coming -

their aftercare does a school-age program and that will likely open up at some point

and/or

some kind of tutor/babysitter

and/or

grandparents come to town if we are all ok with it (they want to come now, we haven't let them yet)

and/or

alternate telework days and try to stay employed

I anticipate that there will be some kind of camps/programming that the city will hold. We have a few camps lined up for the summer that may still take place, fingers crossed. If worse comes to worst I will hire a summer babysitter from the multitudes of college/high school kids that will be looking for other work with camps, pools closed.

If you are in a household where both parents (or single parent or guardian) work and are required to be working from home, what will you do with your kids after May 29?
We have two elementary school kids. Looking for ideas. Thanks!
