Yes I pay them $2-3 cash each pick up. They always accept the cash. I do the same at Chick-fil-A if it’s hot out.

Are they employed by the store. Union jobs. Ave tips for DoorDash

Check that you received all your bags (I had to drive back once when they forgot a few).

Grocery personal shipping and curbside pickup is a service these stores provide to stay competitive. Most say on their website that tipping is not permitted.

I have done curbside pick-up with Safeway. They tell you that they DON'T want tips. It isn't fair that the people at the curb get the tip but it is the shoppers in the store who do all the work. No tips to be fair.

I always tip too and they seem super appreciative. I just hand cash as they are done loading my trunk.

I researched this question while sitting in my Giant parking space. The responses were so confusing I decided to ask the girl packing my trunk and she said they are allowed to accept tips. Idk if there is a different person shopping from the one coming to your vehicle but the person I talk to on the phone is always the one loading my car.
If we’re not supposed to tip, they should show that somewhere that’s obvious to the customers and if it’s a matter of them splitting a tip, that’s something that needs to be handled within the company.

I tipped the person $10 when I did curbside pick up last week. They are still doing your shopping even if they’re not delivering it. I think the envelope in the trunk is the best way

I hand the Safeway person the tip. If we both reach our arms out to their full extensions then we're at 5+ feet. That's good enough for me and the Safeway person hasn't seemed to mind. I always get out of the car anyway.

My friend places a tip in an envelope and puts it in her trunk. When they load the groceries in the trunk, she yells out her window to take the envelope. Yes, it's cash, but you can wipe it down. I don't know which stores do not allow tips.
