Guys, I guess I understand the principle of the thing--my kid's not getting coaching so I want my money back. But most people on this forum make a lot more than the average youth soccer coach, and those coaches are the vast majority of where your money goes. If you want coaches (generally) and your coach (specifically) to be there on the other side of this, then you want them to keep getting paid. In fact, you should reach out to your coaches and make sure they are doing ok through this. Most don't live lavish lifestyles or have a lot of financial cushion. Believe it or not, most are in it because they love soccer and working with (our) kids, even if they are imperfect at it.
(And no, I'm not a coach, I'm a parent. And no, if you have lost your income or security, I'm not talking to you; you should reach out to your club and have an honest conversation about a partial refund.)

We got a message from our BSC manager that refunds / credits are pending decisions as some games / leagues still possible to play June - Aug. They then outlined the situation for each and projected timing.

Stoddert Rec offered a discount on Fall registration which is upto 90% of the fees for the Spring season (which was only like $100 USD). I think we'll just turn it into a donation.

They're one of the highest ranked non-MLS teams in the DA, and they're close enough to lots of MLS teams to allow easy play....of course they'll be in the new league.
Tell that to Crossfire. Best bet for all of this is to assume nothing. It might be DC United doesn't want a lot of local teams so they can have monopoly on the new league even if it means more travel.

I doubt Fall should have anything to do with Spring as far as where the development academy kids land. It’s such a small part of the club. Same pyramid scam different name I guess.
Put a patch on it and call it whatever but my query regarding what other clubs are doing regarding fees not fantasy pay to play leagues that only 7% of the club participate in.

As a parent, former coach and longtime youth soccer supporter I’m wondering if any other clubs are holding onto to player fees?
I heard a few other Maryland clubs will be carrying over prorated refunds and applying to Fall20 player fees.
Has anyone else heard anything?
Our family is now with Bethesda and it seams as though families aren’t bothered with the notion of refunds. It must be nice to not worry about annual dues, I’m not in that boat though. It’s been crickets but at least we have a new virtual platform to show us how much the club cares.
I’m not sure there will be a Fall season but it would be nice to know Bethesda soccer club cares about families during this pandemic.
I mean providing techne for free is nice right ? Joking of course.
