Definitely go. A 6 year old getting headaches and dizziness is pretty serious. Way more likely that the appointment will be important/useful than that you catch COVID from this.

We're in a similar situation with our 8yo, and we're keeping the appointment. Who knows when the next availability will be. They're going to be following extra cautious procedures, and if you do the same, the risk should be fairly low. This type of appointment isn't elective--he needs it, and you should go.

i would go. my child broke an arm a month ago and we had to go multiple times to a hospital/office. precautions at both places were at the very high level. some things cannot wait. good luck!

Absolutely. It takes a long long time to get off a wait list for that type of speciality.

Yes. Absolutely I would take my child if he had your child’s symptoms.

Lots of places are reporting lower than average numbers because people are canceling. You probably have less risk now because people who have other things or common colds are not in office and there is more time per patient because of the lower numbers. Mask, hand sanitizer, and wash hands when you get home (and change clothes when you get home) and you should be fine

I bring baby wipes and lysol wipes and wipe off anything I touched while getting into the car and my hands.

I would go. Bring hand sanitizer, touch as little as possible and as others mentioned wear a mask and gloves.

Good luck to you and your son. I hope you find answers!

Yes, put a mask on him and gloves. You can get extra small gloves on amazon and bath him/change clothing when he gets home. I have headaches and just went for an MRI as I waited months. I was pretty freaked out going in the hospital but it would have been months to get another appointment. I would absolutely go as they can be really painful and if its starting that young (especially with family history), its really hard on him.

Is it in a hospital or is it in an outpatient/doctors office type building?

Our 6yr old DS has been on a wait list for some time to see a neuro for headaches and dizziness. He's been getting them for awhile, but we're now averaging 1-2/week and he's been complaining of dizziness for the last couple of weeks. No nausea or anything. They have told us we can keep the appointment as long as he and I don't have fevers, which we don't. But, we've been home for weeks, it feels strange to take such a big risk as to go to a medical facility right now. Would you keep the appointment or reschedule?
