Yes, he was, in lockstep with his NYC health officials and Nancy Pelosi.

I don’t think it’s the disease spread. I think in areas that are recovering is that they won’t be able to properly supply the schools. Tp, hand sanitizer, food, masks, etc.

The schools didn't have supplies before all of this. We would routinely run out of toilet paper, soap, and paper towels. In the weeks before the schools closed when the virus was spreading we never got those "extra" cleaning supplies and hand sanitizer we were promised. I bought a bottle of bleach and a pack of clorox wipes and we burned through it really quickly...there was nothing left in stores and I knew I couldn't keep my classroom clean any longer. The "deep cleaning" that was supposed to be happening twice a week literally NEVER happened. We called 311 to report it twice and both times they asked us why it mattered. As a classroom teacher, I'm not even allowed to leave the room to wash my hands.

California closed schools for the year more than three weeks about.

The idea of you going back mid-May is laughable.

several states have cancelled it for the rest of the year--states without massive outbreaks even.

If there’s anyone out there who thinks schools are going to start up again - even in not significantly affected areas, are wrong. The impact on the food, toilet paper, cleaning solutions supply chain is too significant.
