VDA will thrive in this situation. Closing is not happening.

Yeah. If DCU DA folds, VDA will be one of the top boys teams in the area. They will pick up a number of players.

The who is going to grab up all the FCV kids when STJ goes broke?

Barca?

why would Sporting Global be immune to this? They are probably on the first rung of cuts.

I think it’s more complex than just ‘big clubs survive, small clubs are in danger.’ Big clubs have a larger customer base, but cost structure is going to be a big factor. Some big clubs have a lot of full time, salary + benefits directors and coaches and they’re going to have to shed staff and/or cut pay. If, for instance, an ED saves him/herself and throws the TD on to the pyre, that TD might be able to find a new home and drag a lot of that customer base with them.

Wonder if that will shake out the setup here.

Nice assertion, please show your math.

Maybe kids could just play soccer without the rigid structures. Sandlot style.

That would not be the worst thing but I think the predicts are overblown. The unemployment rate would have to go up commensurate amount.

I think the big clubs like Bethesda and Arlington have enough bodies to keel running, but some of the smaller teams that struggle to field a single team may have to consolidate or take a year off

Maybe the likes of NVCS or Metro United but not top tier clubs around the DMV, they will survive.
