Big Sky is great and if you like Winter Park, you will likely like skiing Big Sky. The lifts are fancy (heated seats, covered chairs etc) but the scene isn't that fancy and the skiing's itself is great. The town isn't that great but you can do day trips to Yellowstone, which sounds awesome.

Farellones - three good/great ski areas nearby, and easy access from Santiago.

Aspen is a special place of horribleness. So pretentious and snotty.

Best - Park City.

Favorites are park city and Zermatt......the latter had better skiing and the lazy wine-fueled lunches on the mountain were amazing.

My favorite places to ski are the places with no town. That is how you select for the most serious skiers Plus after a day of skiing I prefer to eat in.

But as towns go, I do love Sun Valley/Ketchum.
