My kid is 9 and we enjoyed it. No nudity, just a few scantily clad parts.

Are they asking to see it, or is it just something you want to share with them? If the latter, wait til they're older. Share some of the music. Personally, I like the movie and also saw it live once. Didn't see it for the first time until I was much older than your kids. Never felt like I missed out.

Yes. Our 8 yo twins enjoyed last week's Joseph, but we will definitely not show them the Tim Minchin version that is on ALW's The Show Must Go On. If they really want, we might let them watch Sunday's NBC cast of the John Legend version. The Minchin version is a lot more scary with more violence (like the police scene in the overture) and the Victoria's Secret angels of Gethsemene are really not something for the early grade-schoolers. Most likely they'll skip it entirely. Not really their style of show.

I'm listening now, as I do on every Good Friday. It's actually a decent way to think about what happened in more human terms.

Sure but I don't like the rock opera type shows that just sing every single word. For musicals I prefer the disney-esque, bust into song for no apparent reason types.

I took my 9 year old (who was actually still 8) to see the touring production this past fall. He didn't understand a few things. I'd wondered if the whipping scene would be too much, but I prepped him by reminding him the punishment wasn't pretty. It wasn't his favorite show ever, but I'm not sorry I brought him. He wasn't traumatized at all.

It’s fine. I personally didn’t care for the movie but the stage show is great. They are different.

We are going to wait until our kids are a bit older so that becomes one of many images they have rather than the main one, for them. Our kids are slightly younger than yours, 8 and 10.
