What kind of neighborhood do you like? Urban, suburban? Trendy? Edgy? Go out to eat? What do like to do? You need to provide more information.

Burleith or Glover Park. Lots of rentals in Burleith. Just drive around the neighborhood, there are signs on the lawns.

Super easy commute to Dupont and FB. If in Burleith, your elementary is Hyde-Addison which just re-opened this year after a $35M+ renovation. They also have PK3/PK4, so your older kid should pull in the younger kid.

+1 for hill east. Can't speak personally for the schools but you get a lot of space for your $$ here and I've previously seen some Rowhouses pop up on CL that were under 3k and within 1/2 blocks of Stadium-Armory. I'm sure later in the summer there will be more inventory.
For example this seems like a decent fit- only downside is you're 7-8 blocks from metro, but right by a bunch of bus lines.

We live in Hill East in a 3 BR rowhouse zoned for Maury (a phenomenal elementary school). We are about a 10 minute walk from Stadium Armory metro which goes direct to foggy bottom and farragut west would be the closest stop on that line to Dupont. This is a very friendly family neighborhood. We are vacating our space (finally saved enough and are moving to our forever home) anytime between May and July so it should eventually appear on Craigslist.

Very few 3brs In safe neighborhoods with good schools. I’ve been looking for 2 years. If you can go up to $5k/mo or wait until prices come down you might get lucky. Woodley Park is nice.

Glover Park, in-boundary for Stoddert. Affordable to rent and you can find some cute semi-detached homes that fit the bill if you aren’t too picky. Very family friendly but you will either need to use the bus or have cars.

Hey DCUM! We are moving to the DC area sometime this summer. Would like to live somewhere in DC proper but do not have the money to buy yet so we will be renting. Can anyone recommend a neighborhood (or even apt building) that satisfies these requirements:

- rent between $3-$4k/month (so we can continue saving for a down payment...)
-have two kids, one is age 6 and will be going to public school (the other is 3)
-would ideally like 3 bedrooms or a 2 bedroom + den and 2 full bathrooms
-in unit washer/dryer
