My daughter and her friends have a lot of sleepovers. From the noise level they sound like regular sleepovers because I still have to go in periodically and remind them to keep it down, then eventually have to tell them lights out. The only difference is it’s volume on an iPad, my daughters voice and turning off an iPad. I don’t know what tween girls talk about all night but they find things. Suggest a virtual sleepover.

So angry. Your poor daughter.

My daughters are just fine. But I don't coddle them to that point. If they can't figure out what to talk about with their friends, then they shouldn't talk to their friends. I want my daughters to be able to count on themselves by the age of 11 or 12. I think a lot of problems come from the parents micro-managing.

Lots of adults find video chat awkwardly first so do kids
Nothing wrong with helping out a kid to figure out how it works best

If you are game, make-up. I have been letting DD do her own make-up and then show her friends on FaceTime. They do crazy things to themselves and laugh or say they like it.

12 year old DD has done a few FaceTime calls with friends but finds them boring. What are some things they could do “together” on the phone besides video games?
