I never wanted to or planned to be a SAH parent. But the needs of our children (one ASD and one with multiple severe LDs) made it the least lousy option. I wish that I could have made WOH work. Now, it has been too long.

Nope. I'm in a good place with good career growth at a supportive employer 5 min from my house. So very lucky.

Former SAHM turned part-time worker turned full-time worker. I wouldn’t want to go back to staying at home or part-time, but I love working from home every day right now and am hoping I can convince my boss to let me do this forever.

I'm WOHM who is supposed to be 30hours a week but I wish I could just be fulltime. But DH works and travels a ton so the "part time" basically buys me the right to put boundaries in place at work. Its hard though to just be in the glorified helper role when I am capable of more professionally but can't lead anything since I'm not always available

WOHM. I love my job and am grateful for my exisiting flexibility. If I could work from home a bit more (after this current crisis) I would be thrilled. There's just no need for the commute. WFH = more time and energy for both my family AND my job. My commute isn't even that bad; it's just not necessary.

Same.

Same. With a 20 minute commute.

Same here. 32 hours would be awesome.

WOHM here. No, not now, my kids are older.

Before my H did not have a flexible schedule but could do mornings most weeks so I worked 7-3:30 and could pick up by 4. That was nice.

I did 32 hours a week when they were infants that was nice.

Sometimes I wish I could tutor math and make the same salary as I do now. I plan to do that when I retire because I don't want to my mind to go to mush. I look at Birx and Fauci and imagine they look so young because they stayed in the game.

I'm gonna stay in some sort of game for a long time.

Nah. But I wish that we had a system that didn’t penalize women for having babies.

Another SAHM here with a spouse whose inflexible career/last-minute schedule meant that next year (littlest in K) was supposed to be my chance to go finally back. Wish I was WOH already and the timing could have been different. I was supposed to be interviewing this spring, but going back in the near-term now seems impossible without childcare and with so many furloughed or laid off in my state.

I'm a WOHM and I don't want to do anything different now, but that's because we moved out of DC. The insane commutes plus being surrounded by people who took their work way too seriously was soul crushing.

I have been a SAHM for a few years. I have been waiting for my DH's job to get less crazy so I can go back to work. He has no flexibility and travels a ton. It was supposed to be this summer! (although now may not be the best time to start a new career!) I loved it the first 2 years but now I am ready to work again.
